Friday morning, I received a cell phone call from my friend while he was connecting at ATL. Within 30 seconds of his call, the call cut off! He immediately called back, but again within 30 seconds, the call got dropped! I then called him, and again the call got dropped!

Is ATL a bad airport for cell phone reception? Or are there bad areas in the airport? Or could it be his service provider?

He has (as I have) Verizon Wireless. In the past 4 years with Verizon, I have had 1 (maybe 2) dropped calls - throughout the country. But he had 3 dropped calls within 4 or 5 minutes!

If it matters, he was flying Delta, and said that he just got off, so he may have been near the gate area.
