This has happened to me many times over the years, usually after a late night or redeye.

I have now become extremely paranoid, and I ask the GA several times about the flight, etc., just to be sure.

I do not think this is an IDB situation. Probably, the gate change happened very early, and you got hosed because you were there even earlier.

Around 8:15 we should be boarding but there still is no incoming plane--OK, UX has that frequently so I was just waiting. Around 8:25 still no plane and no announcement as to the delay, so I get up and walk to the unmanned podium and it says "St Louis, 9:30am". Where is my IND flight? I run to the monitor and find that it was moved to F14 without any announcment at E2A at all.

I run down to E2A and get there at 8:28 with the plane still sitting at the gate and the door open. The GAs refuse to allow me to board and I watch the plane taxi away while waiting for the supervisor. The next flight to IND is on AA at 11:33 so I was quite late for my meeting.

Anyway...it was my mistake for not continually checking the monitors I guess, but shouldn't UA make sure that in a gate change that the original gate has an announcement made. The GA told me that I was paged throughout the F terminal but that does little good when I'm sitting in E.

Should this be considered an IDB?
