There is (or was) a difference between European student/youth fares and Swedish domestic student/youth fares.
The European ones could be booked anytime until departure, you could turn up at the airport booking the ticket for a flight one hour later.
You can most likely travel on any flight with the youth fare, but there needs to be availability on the flight you wish to catch.
The tickets are normally booked in Q or V so you need to find a flight with availability in those booking classes, this can easily be checked using for example expertflyer.com
