Make sure you bring a straw hat-the sun is so strong! I bought one which I could roll up and put in my purse so I did not have to carry it when I didn't want it on. It is extrememly hot in the Valley of the Kings and no protection except when you are in the tombs. As for dress, modest is the key. The only place to wear shorts is around the pool! Loose cotton clothing is the key, and I found that most tourists had their arms as well as legs covered. We have been to Egypt 3 times and love it! Who could tire of the pyramids or ancient sites? So much to see-enjoy and make sure you take a Nile cruise!!!
