I use the Apple AirPort express at Courtyard every week. It is simpler than I ever thought it would be.

All I do is plug in the airport express to the power outlet near the desk where the hotel internet connection is. There is usually a wall lamp or desk lamp with built in power outlet(s). Then I connect the ethernet cable between the hotel connection and the AirPort. The light on it will flash a few times and cycle between green and yellow then finally steady green. At this point I power up my pc and it nearly always finds the signal automatically.

In the rare cases where it doesn't find it automatically I run the pc wireless utility to 'find available wireless networks."

I have *never* had to install the Apple software that came with the device.
