You could even buy it open-return... so you'd get an empty coupon that they'd print the return info on at check-in. And yes, I agree. It seems like removing anything useful is an art at SK these days. But in the end I think they loose out some revenue, cause these fares were not the cheapest of all the fares, but I consistently bought up cause of the flexibility. Maybe they expect students to buy the Flex fares...
