I've never done CO>HH, but people report that it takes months (and with a runaround if you try to follow up).
I would suggest the Amtrak route- took one business day CO to Amtrak a first time, and a few days the next time. From Amtrak, you can transfer to Hilton online- takes a day or two, IME.
Either way, I would assume you call CO to initiate a transfer.
