I was able to confirm the up/g at the time of booking (Thanks EF). I realise that the co-pay needed to be paid on her ticket, but I have also been charged this fee on my "B" fare. I seem to recall that when I called CS and confirmed the up/g she said that I would need to pay the co-pay and I was fine with that, but did not realise that it applied to both tickets. I am paying approx 4 times the amount my mother is paying for her ticket.....come on AA dont you think that is ridiculous. At least if you are going to charge such things surely they should be some diffrence applied to the amount you have paid for your ticket. I f I knew this I would have booked a cheaper ticket as I have the extra miles that would be needed (ie instead of 20k would need 50k).

I WAS REALLY UP BEAT YESTERDAY WITH AA AT THE PROSPECT OF QULAIFYING FOR EXP THIS YEAR. I HAVE TO SAY THIS HAS LEFT A SOUR TASTE IN MY MOUTH.

PS - I do not need any rant about the rights or wrongs of paying co-pay, I never have until I opened my cc statement today.

Cheers
Dude; Clam down. SLOW down. Post the FACTS. To/from and the amount you were charged-- it's very difficult to determine these things from your post.

Remember, when we say "co-pay" we mean $250 per ticket, each way, on truly international itins. (+25,000 miles each way.)

Try it again-- CALMLY. With all the pertinent info.
