I can think of a few possibilites:
1. There were a few seats left in the P bucket and it was close enough to the flight that the agent was allowed to give you one of those seats.
2. Someone that had a seat in the F bucket caught an earlier flight/cancelled etc, and that opened up that seat for you.

Check your account to see what class it shows you flew in (i.e. P/F/R) and that might give you an idea of what happened.
