The UA lounge though is nothing at all special. Moreover it's the ONLY lounge in the C area which means LH directs traffic to it for any flights departing from C (notably the TLV flights which always leave from here). US Air flights depart from here too, so any US Gold's tend to head for the UA lounge too. You get the picture - a small room serving far more passengers than it was designed for.
The lounge is small, offers very limited munchies and is generally dreary. I certainly wouldn't make any special effort to either get to our use this lounge. The adjacent UA First lounge is somewhat better if only for it's lower usage.

I noticed a thread on the Lufthansa board and there seems to be a consensus that the LH Senator lounges are a notch above the UA RCC. I'm not famililar with FRA and I don't know where my landing gate (UA900 from SFO) and departure gate (LH4370 to TLS) will be. Looking at the map on Hemispheres, there seems to be an RCC in Pier C, and Senator Clubs in Piers A and B. If somebody has recommendations on any of these, I'd love to get some feedback.
Also, my layovers will be 4 and 6 hours. Anything exciting to do/see at or around the airport? Besides stuffing myself with Milano cookies?...
