Any thing less and you have had a result.
At least until July 1, 2003, BA would allow one to fly on to a non-gateway destination in the US on AA, at no additional mileage cost. Those flight(s) would be in Y on AA if flying BA in Y, or F on AA when flying BA in J/F/R. I was under the impression this didn't change when so many other things changed.
