Is there an unpublicized companion fare?

This afternoon I needed to buy one of my multistop trips. After pricing itins on a bunch of sites, I came up with the best price on CO being $367 for one pax, which seemed about right to me and which was within 5% of the lowest fares offered by other companies.

Since we always travel on separate records, I started to buy the first one, but just for grins, decided to check out what CO.com would show for 2 pax.

Strangely, the fare for 2 came up at $578, and I bought the deal pronto. It was interesting to note that the itin showed the following fare classes:

CO 2060 30May EWR-DCA Class: Economy (Y)
CO 757/2257 1Jun BWI-CLE-SDF Class: Economy (Q)
CO 2435 5Jun SDF-EWR Class: Economy (H)

My experience (and that of others on this board) has been that occasionally CO will fare 2 pax MORE than double one, but this is the first time that I have seen it fareing 2 LESS than double one.

So the question on top remains: Is there an unpublicized companion fare?
