As an example the current AA promo to get up to 30,000 miles for using four OneWorld partners has fare class rules which seem tricky-especially when you are searching for tickets but fare class is not posted.
On AA.com, you will be given a choice of flights. You have to make a selection, which takes you through to the next screen, which shows you the all-in cost. This screen has a link to the fare rules for the fare you have selected. Click on that link, and it will bring up the fare rules, including the fare class for each segment of your trip. For example, the fare category for your ORD-DUB might show as W27KB53. The first letter indicates the fare class.
