Thumbs down I guess there is some catering enhancement

I guess this quote from alaskaair.com no longer applies:
"Passengers seated in our main cabin on flights which are not transcontinental, but with durations longer than 3 hours, are offered a hot sandwich during mealtimes. First Class service on these flights includes a hot entrée meal service."

I believe that AA serves a choice of pizza or BBQ salmon with lemon cookies, and side salad on pretty much all lunch and dinner F flights on SEA-DFW/ORD. But even AA's new unpopular pizza or salmon meals is heartier than AS's lunch and dinner snacks up and down the West Coast. But to be honest, all DFW markets are pretty high yield (not counting connecting traffic) and I just find the cutbacks a bit uncalled for. United seems to be the one with the best meal options out there -- real hot breakfast for morning, a choice of warmed sandwich or salad with fruit side and freshly baked cookie during lunch, and a choice of dinner entrees with salad and ice cream and cookie for evening hours. Nevertheless when the fuel price continues to climb, I am sure more cutbacks will be in near future.

I am surprised secondly by the dinner description because even on ANC-SEA-ANC dinner flights, a full three-course dinner is offered, and snacks are only served during morning and afternoon (B and L) flights. So I actually wonder if ANC-SEA-ANC suffer any cutbacks as well.

But the only thing that bothers me mostly is the lack of notice by Alaska (or rather the clarifying process) -- a notice at www.alaskaair.com or an email to MVP members will be appreciated, so we can prepare ourselves and no "unhappy" surprises on board... What annoy people is that these things change with no notice and sometimes we are not prepared. Also what is with the Tabelerone chocolate bars ... further downgrade.... Ghiradelli is not fancy, but at least a more fancy brand of chocolate.
