NoStressHere is likely right.

Delta rules will control to your first stop-over point as the bags will be checked through. If you are in coach and non-elite you may be limited to 50 pounds per bag. Overweight charges to 70 pounds per bag are just $25 each. With luch your home airport will not check weight.

I recently flew domestic from Shannon to London and expected to be skinned. Max weight per passenger was 44 pounds. I was about 40 over that. The agent was in a hurry and did not bother to weigh bags. Figured I saved about $100.

If you have a stop over before AMS you might hit these lower limits. If you do, good luck.

Expect similar rules on CO headed back to Delta's going over. I recently flew CO LGW to EWR and they were checking weight.

Shift heaviest objects to carryon. Use biggest legal carryon. Consider a second carryon (personal item like computer bag in size) and load it as well.
