If you got your PFD through as cabin baggage you were doing well. Normally any form of compressed gas is forbidden in the cabin. Yes there is a CO2 cartridge at evey seat of an overwater aircraft, but we are talking about CATSA so reason an rules are mutually exclusive. How did your friend get the second cartridge on board, and where were you flying??
