They sometimes reverse the flow, and then the LEFT side is the correct side, but this is the less-common situation. On my trip to Honolulu last week, 4 days out of 5 I saw planes landing in the direction I call "westbound" (Left to Right as you're sitting sipping a MaiTai on Waikiki beach), which would mean a right-hand seat is best. But one afternoon, for most of the PM after, say, 11, the planes were all taking off "eastbound" instead.
