SAS has actually stopped issuing BP's when using Self-Service Machines or Internet/Phone check-in at many airports in Scandinavia if travelling on an e-ticket tied to a card. Works great! Card is swiped at security and at the gate where you get a small "receipt" with seat assignment. I really think this is the way to go rather than computer printouts!
