Dear PUCHI GALORE,

Many thanks for your help!

Regarding NatWest - well, this word is forbidden in my mind and I said to myself never ever go to them again. It took me several years of bad service, extrodinary charges, 3 attempts to open International accounts (gave up in the end ), useless Airmiles sitting on their expensive credit cards etc etc.

I will surely follow your advise about Avis forum on FT (as most FT, the information is good but people do the most ^ ). I am just a litlle bit on sceptical side regarding Avis prices: I have done massive research on many travel search engines (I do recommend Travelocity for great visibility of different car types, and already mentioned Travelsupermarket is also good for broad search of return-to-the-same-location rents). But all those engines did show very dear rates for Avis/Hertz/National in comparison with Thrifity/Dollar alike.

I had a look at mentioned "Insurance4carhire" website - it does provise very attractive annual covers: £99 for the US (very good versus $25 per day quoted from rent-cars) or £49 rate for Europe (compare with £60 I paid recently for just 3 days excess waiver with Avis ).

But overall, thanks for your input into this OT discussion (I noticed you started to deviate from your homeland BA topics into Tesco and other OTs). Hope you missed that beef madness though

I got to the starting point of this thread question - I do need CDW+SLI+ but not from rent-car desks themselves! The advise is as old as the world - shop around (and look into FT first!^).

cheers to everyone
