Bit of a newbie here so please excuse my ignorance.
I had no idea about the different levels ot status within MP until I got my Premier card in the mail recently.
I was wondering, considering the only travel I do is transatlantic LHR - IAD, and I guess therefore 500 mile upgrades are only good for turning into more miles, what exactly do I benefit from being a 2P, in layman terms =) ?

I always go for the cheapest fair in economy, and I usually avoid flying on weekends for this reason but does being a 2P give me any upgrade benefits, milage accural benefits etc?
