A couple places for hip clothing.. The shopping mall Alto Palermo (corner of Santa Fe & Coronel Diaz) has lots of variety and great deals in comparison to back home. Another is to walk along Santa Fe, between Coronel Diaz and Cordoba (towards downtown - the Obelisco).
For jeans I highly reccomend Kosiuko jeans. very trendy very popular and very comfortable, though dont' forget to check out the other stores first and ALWAYS ask for your TAX FREE coupon when paying for clothing (non-food and lodging items). You'll know they offer it because there is a sticker at the entrance.
For Antiques, there is a small gem of a place on Aguerro around the numbering of 2300 - 2500 (two small block radius). This street is no more than 10 minute walk from the Village Recoleta. Though you can always try going into the older part of town where there are many shops. Most of these stores have exported their antiques many times, so it would be a matter of asking them to find out the cost.
You'll have lots of fun in BA.. I don't konw about French food, but there are many great steak restaurants that you should not miss on (along with their great wine!!)
First off, what a great thread! My boyfriend and I will be visiting BA for 2 weeks in early Sept. I'd like some recommendations on where to shop. I'm looking for hip clothes (not necessarily a leather jacket though). Also, does anyone have any idea if high end stores, i.e. Fendi are cheaper in BA than in the states? I'm also interested in shopping for antiques, but would like to know if shipping will be too expensive.
Any spas that are recommended? I'm interested in getting a massage after my long flight?
And finally, what are some good restaurants for French food?
