Jet Airways is still awaiting the approval from the US for its application to operate to the US. In the interim, their leased A340 from SAA's (rumored to be expensive dry leases) continue to cost them money. After wet leasing them to AI, they are now wet leasing these to Gulf Air until the end of Oct. The aircraft will be based out of Bahrain. So no US service at least until Oct end even if they get approvals by then. I guess the crew will get a lot of international experience
One of the other 340s is being deployed on the DEL-Amritsar-Birmingham route. This seems to be based on the routed developed by AI recently. There seems to be enough demand.
