I commute from BOS to Asia every month, 12 times a year and split my business between UA and SQ. UA has the better flight schedules but SQ is the BEST airline. I will say that Cathay Pacific has improved tremendously since 5 years ago but their schedules generally reek unless you are going only to Hong Kong. SQ flies either non-stop to Singapore from LAX or lay-over in Tokyo, Seoul or Taipei.

From any criteria, food, service, creature comfort - SQ is best. And First Class SQ is absolutely Best in Class.
