I received the same promotion for the Westin Maui $750 dollars for 5 nights with 7500 Starpoints, a $185 dollar Avis gift certificate, and a $100 dollar resort credit......YES it is a timeshare promotion in disguise. It says in tiny printing on the invitation that this is a Starwood vacation promotion...that means "timeshare". First off they cant make you go to the sales pitch without disclosing it in writing so they try to entice you when you arrive at the hotel. I received three invitations last year and finally accepted the offer. We were in Maui coincidentally staying at another hotel and I actually went to the front desk at the Westin Maui and asked with the invitation in my hand if I "had" to take the timeshare tour if we used our invitation? I was told there wasn't any obligation..... we chose to go on the timeshare tour right then though. We ended up buying a Villa there which was a lot more expensive than the cheap $750 dollar trip we had planned but it was well worth it lol lol!!! I know for a fact they are breaking ground on timeshare villas in Kauai right now. One thing to note..... if you know anyone who is a vacation ownership person through Starwood and a "new" buyer they can refer you for this special offer. We passed along the special promotion to 21 of our friends. All of them are thrilled with the offer and on their way to paradise........
