6-month prediction
The NS bridge on the Crescent route apparently is detroyed, and the CSX line through Biloxi (Sunset east) has largely vanished.

The Sunset west line runs through Bayou country, and is operated by UP.

These are all factors that I have used in making my scientific prediction of no Amtrak service to NOL for 6 months. Maybe the City of NO line has the best chance of startup.

This is being issued as a challenge to the railroads to beat my projection! I'll be happy to "look bad" if they "look good". But, I think their chances are remote, at least as far as accommodating Amtrak are concerned.
