I last visited Egypt in 1998 shortly after the terrorist attack in Luxor which killed 37 tourists, and this August visited Oman so I'd have no concerns about travelling to the Middle East. Plus Emirates continues to grow at breakneck speed so pple aren't being put off from going to this amazing part of the world. Just use your common sense is all I can advise.
