Yeah, I noticed. We were in Wales on the Cardiff waterfront last year and I was searching for a pulic bathroom. I was open to the idea of discreetly ducking off into some greenery if I coudn't find a bathroom and realized there were electric eyes on me at every corner. Extremely unnerving. (I eventually found a "proper" bathroom.)

An example of the Law of Unintended Consequences: I read on the BBC site that there's been an increase in crime in the smaller cities- the criminals have migrated there because there are fewer surveillance cameras.
