... and a large part of the US airline industry got their training in the US military where the words used are different. They naturaly revert to what they were first taught and noone gets tied up in a knot over it.

....In Europe the English used was British and the words used are a little different again and the only ones who seem to get twisted over it sometimes are the Germans.
