There can be different words used by the police or military in different countries, but AFIK, civil aviation has standardised on one alphabet. The phonetic alphabet used by the ICAO, FAA, ITU and ANSI are all the same, except for spelling differences:
A - Alpha (or Alfa)
B - Bravo
C - Charlie
D - Delta
E - Echo
F - Foxtrot
G - Gulf
H - Hotel
I - India
J - Juliet (or Juliett)
K - Kilo
L - Lima
M - Mike
N - November
O - Oscar
P - Papa
Q - Quebec
R - Romeo
S - Sierra
T - Tango
U - Uniform
V - Victor
W - Whiskey
X - X-ray
Y - Yankee
Z - Zulu


The first spelling is ANSI.
