This is exactly what I do, and it works great. It is funny to hear the web tech when you pretty much ask for a higher price ticket, but they do it and resave it into your held reservation. No charge and you still get your online booking bonus when you purchase.

Sometimes, when they resave your reservation under the new booking class, it changes how long you have to purchase the tix, so be sure to look at the deadline.
