You are asking about minute service and comfort differences for a flight that is 20 months from now? QF is as likely to discontinue the route as it is to leave it the same (lots of CNS routes have come and gone over the past few years, similarly for routes to Japan). I'd be more worried about ticketing the routes I want before they are withdrawn (then any chages are covered by the airline, as long as you have fixed-dated ticketing and not open-dated; if it is open-dated, you assume the risk for route changes). It is a sure thing that the service standard will change by April 2007, and somewhat likely that the 763s will no longer be used on these routes (I'd say 95% probability). So your only question is the state of the 743 refit 20 months from now; perhaps someone has seen the schedule?
