That was during the conversion to 16F seats instead of 14. They did not assign those seats just in case there was an AC change, and the flight ended up with a plane that had not been converted yet. If you noticed, last spring, those two seats were always listed as blocked.
Nope, it was 6AB that were always blocked, not 6EF. (The poster who you responded to was placed into 6F.) There was always a 6EF, even before the conversion, but 6AB only exists on converted planes.
