It is up to the hotel but Hilton can also award the extra points to keep your business. This works for us because we move the meetings around the state and try to stick with the same hotel chain. The loyalty is to Hilton and not one hotel.
Thanks very much for the advice. The latest response I got from the banquet manager is "private banquet are not eligible for accumulations of points for the HHonors program", even after I cited the link that LBBZMAN provided in my email. I did get them bill all the costs to my room but this didn't help in my case. I also emailed HHonor Customer Service but no reply yet. Do you think a call may work better?
Conrad Singapore is a nice hotel, but they are stingy to a VIP Gold customer. The room I booked was a junior suite with breakfast, they obviously have bigger suites but even for the sake of SG$37K I spent they still refused to upgrade me, refused to give tiny little things like free internet. What they offered were two bottles of water/day for the VIP Gold member, and a 2-person dinner voucher for the banquet...
