It must have been a very busy time at the Churchill when your were there I have visited the hotel five times (incl two FFN stays each of 3 days) over the past year and I have been upgraded to the RC every time.
Although it is a fine RC with excellent staff, I very much doubt if I would be willing to pay 70 UK pounds to experience it. Given that you breakfast would be free, 70 pounds will pay for a lot of white wine and peanuts.
