Has anyone flown ORD-NRT in Y?

I need to go to Japan. I'm trying to avoid NWA, since I don't cross picket lines, and if this were my normal stay of three to five weeks, I'd be content to make my way to the West Coast however and hop onto NH.

However, due to the shortness of the trip (5 days), I'd like to make the actual journey in as few legs as possible.

My major concern is that I've heard mixed reviews of JAL's coach class. Some say that it's really cramped, while others say that it's certainly better than NWA.

Any opinions pro or con? To anticipate one question, no, I don't have enough miles in any program that would qualify me for upgrades on JAL.
