Well ...like I said I'm not a union member..never have never will. The way the regs read in the US an A&P can perform almost any job on any aircraft. As long as they can read a book. In the rest of the world (JAR,CAA) you are aircraft type rated. so yes you can go from cessna straight to NW and alot have. Can your job be handled by a kid fresh out of school? Can a manager from a mom&pop store go and run NW? NO so why can a kid fresh out of tech school go work on 757's??? Because he has a A&P?? Because he sat threw NW's class for 2 weeks? The way the feds have the books written YES he can. Should he NO! Its screwed up in aviation... you cant put somebody who has 15 years experiance against a kid out of school. You folks are turning a blind eye to the Replacement Mechs...they float around and are temp labor. Most have problems keeping in one place. But since NW says their good you believe everyword....what else are they going to say??? ( this just in from NW...All the good Mechs are working for other airlines so we called some temp guys in)??? Use your brain ...if you are good at your job you are always employed!! BTW I am anti-union thats whats kept me from applying at NW. (had a bad run in while serving in the AF)

sorry this comes across as me being angry...I'm not loosing any sleep over NW.
