I think the point was that the 524H is pushed to its absolute limit on the 767, whereas the CF6 on the same aircraft is at the bottom end of its potential thrust range.

RR were poised to offer the Trent 600 (designed for the 747A) on the 767-400ERX, but that project was cancelled.

Trent 500s would be quite good on a 767 methinks.
