I love my fios (and i'm only a 5/2 customer, not 15/2), and haven't had a single outage, or major problem, since it was installed in May. Compare that to Comcast, which had daily outages in my area for the last six months I was a customer.

My fios is cheaper than comcast by about 18 bucks a month, and the customer service has been great. I had a few questions when Fios was first installed, and each person I spoke with was helpful ---believe it or not, if they didn't have the answer they found someone who did. A major contrast to comcast. The minute I could jump to Fios I did ...until then I had no highspeed alternative to the cable modem.

As for the battery issue, they claim it is 6 hours talk time, not six hours total backup.
