Double elite miles in October of 2001. I cleaned up. I flew to bali (lrd-iah-hnl-gum-dps and back)on a D BF fare and got around 45 to 50k elite miles with the fare bonus and uncountable bonus miles. In fact when I got the promotion I called CO and said I am free this certain weekend, what is the furthest cheapest place I can fly in first class, upgrade or D fare. After 45 minutes the ticket agent and I decided on DPS. I spent 46 hours in the air and 48 hours on the ground. Maybe with a war on the horizon they will do this again, or at least on specific routes. It sure makes MR's a lot easier.
