Is that because C class loads are higher on 330 routes (like EWR, ORD) vs. long haul to Asia. Ironically, it is the longer hauls (340) where you might want to sleep.
It's the other way around. 330 will have reduced Business class with less rows in the forward C cabin and the current rear C cabin converted to Economy Extra because of less need for sleep on the US routes. A cabin crew rest area will also be removed on the 330 which will gain 9 Economy seats.
340 will have both forward and rear C cabin Business class as today but with less rows due to space demands of the new seats. I'm pretty sure he also said that Economy Extra would have 35 seats (7 rows) on the 340 which would mean an extension.
If I got everything right the total numbers for 340 will be 249 seats and for 330 just above 270 seats.
