What, because management threw the mechs a bum deal, those of us who sympathize with the mechs are union sympathizers? I'll be blunt and say that FT'ers throw the term "union" around way, way too much. Union or not, if I was thrown a deal like this, I would have walked away from it too. Make no mistake: If there was no union, there would have been no vote. But when management tells you that they have 1500 people lined up to take your job for less money than what you make, you can either accept the terms of their offer or take a hike. If they didn't have the back up labor, you could just take a hike and leave them hanging. NW wouldn't have been this draconian if they didn't have the backup labor.
