Dude, you'd better get with the program. This is happening every day in this country. The only way to keep your job (and/or gain increased pay and benefits) is to "bring more to the table". Years in service doesn't "bring more to the table". Improved/updated skills (computer, language, etc.), willingness to travel, etc. etc. etc. 'bring more to the table".
I suspect that some of you folks are in for a very rude awakening over the next few years (we in IT have already had our wake-up call).
