Partner Up promo answer (UNBELIEVABLE)
I called CS about their definition of "3 unique partners" - they consider all merchants in the Rewards Mall as 1 partner. (I missed the earlier post on this thread.) The answer that I received (FROM A SUPERVISOR!) was totally unbelievable!
When I used the analogy that sites like the airline mileage malls consider merchants such as Circuit City.com, Office Max.com, Office Depot.com and CompUSA.com as 4 unique partners, but AGR considers them as only 1, this is the explanation that I got. (You can not go to Circuit City and say that you want to buy this from Office Max. You would be told to go to their store or site.) The SUPERVISOR said:
".... Those are the airlines. We are the railroad. WE DON'T HAVE TO FOLLOW THEIR RULES..."
So if the AGR rules are different than the airline's (and hotel's) mileage mall rules, wouldn't it be a good idea to let members know? After all, the earlier poster did not find out (per the post) UNTIL A CALL TO AGR CS! It is not found anywhere in the T&C that ALL merchants in the Rewards Mall are considered as 1 merchant/partner by AGR!
I am having second thoughts about using AGR, or Amtrak for that matter!
