Things that make you go, hmm...
Having delivered a NW mechanic's toolbox and all of their equipment to the hangar, and seeing everyone else's individual toolboxes there I'm sure those were actually mechanic's tools and not the airline's. They're removing them to prevent damage by replacement people or others that might be there since that's a very significant investment the mechanic has put into having the tools to do their job.
