It's now time to impose work and pay rules that conform to economic reality, and do away with the restrictive union contract. Northwest will now be able to achieve far greater long term efficiency than they could have with the AMFA negotiating team under any circumstances.
That's true, provided they survive the transition period. Either way, though, the AMFA loses. NW installs its own conditions and breaks the union, or the company goes down.
