The OP does not want to travel via Asia 2 to the South Pacific. The OP wants to travel via the South Pacific to Asia 2.

Regardless, the AA all-partner award rules (post #36) allow travel from one region to a second region via a third region only under certain circumstances. North America to the South Pacific to Asia 2 is not one of them.

The only way to use AA miles for an award that involves both the South Pacific and Asia 2 is to book a oneworld award.
