You may think so what, who (other than Lihu'e 1k) needs there laptop going to Hawai'i. Well the reason you should care is that the ETOPS aircraft frequently get pressed into transcon service with connections to/from the islands. So basically, if you fly transcon there is an excellent chance you'll draw an ETOPS plane. And IF you drawn and ETOPS plane there is essentially zero chance of having power.
Check the nose for the "ETOPS" designation. If you see it, you can be nearly sure - no onboard power.
