Anyhoo, I once met someone at a AA City office and we started chatting about the AC's and the cost of memberships.
He pulled out his wallet and showed me a (IIRC black colored) lifetime AC membership card. He said he paid something like $50 or so many, many years ago. He said it was one of the best purchases he ever made. Who knows, may in a decade or so, $3k will look like a bargain!
Lifetime AC membership definitely keeps you tied to AA.
If AA does start selling llfetime AC's again, the price will be quite a bit more than $3K, I bet. It was over $2K fifteen years ago.
