No. BA is giving you miles as a goodwill/PR gesture. Bottom line the only action which they are required to do is get you from point A to point B. If they fail in that effort they are required by law to compensate you, but they have not obligation to compensate you for the lack of Perrier Jouet, Johnny Walker Blue and Canapes. I am sorry to disagree with you, but at least in Portugal a company would have a very tough time getting away with that b******. Whatever they advertise is part of the contract, no matter if ithey omit it in the t&cs or not.
You just need to get a look at ba's website to see that the airline clearly advertises the in flight catering;
