Angry Compensation for no food - fair or not?

In a response to an e-mail to Mike Street's office about the lack of catering on BA278 from LAX to LHR I have been told that I will get 30,000 miles as compensation, but because my girlfriend is only a blue card holder she will only get 12,000 miles. The fact that we were both travelling in First doesn't make any difference, the compensation is based on your EC level - not the cabin you travel in. So a Gold card holder in Economy on a low fare deal would still get the 30,000 but somebody on Blue and not quite Silver travelling on a full fare F ticket would still only get 12,000. Incidentally Silver Card holders can expect 20,000. If you are not in the EC you will get some vouchers.

I just do not see this as fair, aybody else agree?

Regards

John
